WHAT’S THE STORY OF YOU SEASON 1?
“You” is all a person can wish from a thriller suspense series. It not only involves some brutal depictions but makes people aware of what harm can be caused if one isn’t vigilant enough. The story revolves around the character of Joseph Goldberg who seems normal, caring, and innocent but in actual is a psychopath. Working in a library, he meets a girl named Guinevere Beck on whom he keeps close eyes because he thinks he is in love. Beck is stunningly beautiful, naïve, and compassionate. With her social media accounts being public, Joe begins to follow her everywhere and eventually gets closer to her. Being a freedom-loving and optimistic girl, Beck never thought anybody could secretly be following her this way and she had to pay the price for this mistake.
Once Joe and Beck get into a relationship, he becomes more and more obsessive toward her. Joe kills Beck’s ex-boyfriend and a friend of hers named Peach Salinger. Although he commits murders, but getting rid of their bodies is another task in Joe’s hands which he completes in a vicious way. In the busiest city New York, Joe takes the rotten body of Ben "Benji" Ashby into the jungle and burns it and everybody thinks he’s enjoying the campfire. With so much drama and chaos, he cages Beck in a soundproof shield in the library and… Do you want to know what happened next? Why don’t you watch You yourself then!

Joseph Goldberg
Being bookstore manager at Mooney's, Joe has made the You series epic with his character and obviously, the credit goes to Penn Badgley for his extraordinary performance. He has made the character of maniac, gentle, kind, and manipulative Joe alive. You can see him doing sweet things for Paco but hideous things with enemies like Salinger and others. At times it is observed that Joe didn’t want to attempt the brutal measures but had to because of the circumstances. You are also one of those people whose actions can’t be predicted while the mood swings are painfully aggressive.

Dr. Nicky
Dr. Nicky is not the main character but he definitely plays an important role in the end. He was a therapist for Beck and Joe but he never did anything to help either of them instead, got involved with Beck which made things more strangled. Dr. Nicky did nothing but by Beck’s idea, Joe made him seem like her murderer and he never tried to get rid of these charges. Maybe because he was guilty of not taking any action or because he simply accepted things on his plate. You are also a patient and contended human who never makes a fuss about anything. You are simple and stay happy with what you have, no flaunting, no ego, nothing!

Who can ever hate Beck! She’s so pretty with a delicate heart and innocent eyes. She never sees anything bad in anyone, in fact, tries to encourage everyone who has a dream. One single mistake that she made was being nice to Joe when no one even looked at him. Beck always wanted to be a writer as she graduated in literature but she was unable to pen her thoughts in the best way. However, the story of her life written by her during the time Joe kept her captivated became the bestseller. You also find it hard to focus on things and even the smallest mistake made by you gets you into big trouble.

Peach belongs to a wealthy family and takes pride in this fact. She is tall, beautiful, attractive, and clever. Being an independent and working woman she can observe who’s nice and who’s not. You can say she has a damn good gut feeling! Peach never like Joe even when she saw him for the first time and she also seem obsessed with Beck (not in the way Joe was!). Unfortunately, Peach couldn’t find proof against Joe and was killed by him which he flaunted as suicide and no one knew the real cause of death.
