WHAT’S THE STORY OF THE BRADY BUNCH SITCOM?
The story gears up with the introduction of two simple and lovely families; one is of Mike Brady while the other is of Carol Martin. Both the families are living their lives just like they wish. Behind everyone’s back, Mike and Carol have been dating each other for some time. Mike has lost his wife and is a widower while Carol is a single mother. The union of this family in one house is just like bringing explosives and fire in the same room. Carol Ann Brady
It’s better to state her as Carol Brady instead of Carol Martin because we would be focusing more on her life after marriage. She is pretty with her beautiful and attractive eyes, alluring smile, slender physique, and sweet voice. She has lived as a single mother and brought up her three lovely daughters in the best way possible. It was though not very easy for her; neither financially nor emotionally. This is why she chose Mike as her partner and honestly, Carol never regretted it.
Carol after marriage can be seen as one of the most ideal homemakers. She not only remained a mother to her daughters but also loved the three boys equally. It was definitely arduous to maintain peace when the kids themselves had a war-like situation with each other. Carol really managed well and her motherly, unbiased, and protective attitude is what we all loved to watch like Star Trek.
Alice Nelson
Everybody wishes to have a housekeeper like Alice. She looked over the Brady kids like her own. Her short hair and blue uniform would always stay in our minds. Alice’s signature sweetness, smile, and jokes (at the wrong timing) always caught my attention. Before the entrance of Coral, everything was handled by Alice but she shared the house with Coral without any negativity.
Alice also has a family and her sister is mostly a part of her conversations. Moreover, her love for Sam (butcher) became quite a heated topic. We can say that Alice has never been only a caretaker but a family to everyone. We could observe her importance as she left the house when she felt that the children had considered her a maid rather than a caretaker. All the kids soon realized their mistake and brought her back. Consequently, they became a happy family again.
Michael Paul "Mike" Brady
Mike is the father figure in the story. He has been living with his three sons for years and life was equally tough for him after losing his wife and no one to look for her sons. We can say that the decision of marriage made by Mike was not only for himself but for his family as well. Brady is an engineer and it is shown that the house of Bradys’ was also designed by him. He is also handsome and intelligent. Mike seriously observes things around them and tries to control the cacophony as calmly as possible.
Mike wasn’t used to parenting girls but he did an excellent job as not only did he protect the girls like his father but gave them the love that they always wished for. It was evident that the girls accepted him as a father willingly and he also appreciated his big happy family.
Gregory "Greg" Brady
Greg is the oldest most son of Mike Brady. He has almost all qualities a “Big Bro” must have. Greg is an interesting guy as he has various interests like playing musical instruments and singing. He has always wished to become a singer which almost became a reality if he hadn’t turned this down himself. His honesty and fair attitude bring him disappointment a few times but at least his heart feels at peace.
It’s true that Greg never wanted sisters in life and devised many plans to get rid of them but he finally changed. He became sort of overprotective for all his sisters and even tried to make up for the things them. For instance, Greg encouraged Marcia in school and did the best for all.
