SYNOPSIS OF BLOOD & WATER

No matter how hard we try, sometimes, moving on from the past gets almost impossible. Blood & Water series takes us to a family that has been impacted deeply by an incident in the past. Thandeka and Julius had their firstborn girl who was stolen from the hospital on the very next day of her birth. There were no findings of the girl and the police suspected that it was a case of human trafficking. Police suspected that it was Julius behind it. However, no proof was found and so the case never reached any culmination. The girl was named Phumelo by her parents and yet after all those 17 years, her memories haven’t faded. The family celebrates Phumelo’s birthday every year which isn’t really appreciated by Puleng Khumalo, their second daughter.

Puleng somewhat doesn’t feel very comfortable being around the memories of Phume. So, she goes with her best friend Zama to a party where all the richest youngsters in the city are celebrating. Puleng is more than excited to be here in this new world and meets Fikile Bhele. Apparently, Fikile and Puleng are very similar in features but the two don’t realize this until Zama points this out. Now, something trickles in senses of Puleng and she urges to be in the Parkhurst College high school where Fuleng is. There she blends well with Wade, KB, Chris, Reece, and Wendy apart from Fikele. While Puleng tries her best to know more and more about Fikele, things get more tangled. Wade doesn’t like the status of Fikele being rich and so she adds more and more bitterness to the friendship of them both.

At the end of season 1, Puleng reveals it to Fikele that she might be her sister. This shock engulfs the peace of Fikele and she is eager to get the answer once and for all. Puleng begins to think of ways through which this situation can be untangled. No pictures of Fikele’s childhood and her mother’s pregnancy make her more determined for the DNA test. Do you know what turns out to be in the test result? The result is unexpectedly negative, Phew! The school counselor was also involved in the test along with Puleng’s parents. But, Fikele begins to feel disturbed and thinks that she is a part of a bigger conspiracy. She tries to dive deeper behind the DNA test and find a man who reveals that the true test report was never shared. The truth is open in the air that both Puleng and Fikele are biological sisters and that her father is Thandeka, not Julius.

The two are half-sisters as they have the same mother but their fathers are different. Still, the findings change the life of both of them in a very unreal way. In all three seasons of Blood & Water, there is so much to see!
