WHAT’S THE STORY OF THE MIDNIGHT CLUB SERIES

This horror story takes place in Rotterdam Home Hospice. It isn’t an ideal place to be. Reason? All teenagers there are sick to the point that there are hardly any chances of their returning to life again. It is quite heart-wrenching to watch them in such a condition. Although their chronic diseases have changed the paths of their life but all of them still have the spark. Hence, all of them live together more like a family. During the daytime, guests, parents, family, and family arrive to support the girls and boys. Everything is monotonous during the daytime; however, after midnight, the energy changes.

There are many teens in the hospice like Kevin, Sandra, Anya, Cheri Ian, Spencer, Natsuki, Amesh, Ilonka, Mark, and Shasta. But, only five of them have created a club. After midnight, all the members of The Midnight Club including Ilonka, Anya, Kevin, Spence, and Sandra meet secretly in Dr. White’s study. It is nice of him to let them sneak in because he shows as if he is oblivious to their activities. But, he believes it is healthy for them to have such joyous activities. Each member takes turns and tells each other horror tales. Most of them are fictitious but they do blend some of their real-life events too. It is fun to hear the spooky stories when the setting is dark and teens are alone.

However, Spence shares a really impressive idea! Sadly they all know that life would ditch them soon. Their conditions are prevailing towards disheveling. He offers all to make a pact in which they have to swear upon one thing. Whoever dies first, would return to this world again and give any sort of signals possible. All the members of The Midnight Club are curious to know what happens hereafter and this is the only way possible to unveil it. However, with the death of one friend, odd things would turn out to happen. No one would be able to answer the logic behind them!

Ilonka is a female character who has survived up till now with his courage and wisdom. She is suffering from cancer however, Ilonka believes that she can beat it. She always tries to create positive energy around her. According to her, this way she’d be able to fight her cancer. Along with the doctor’s medicine, Ilonka has high hopes for herbal medicines. Along with that, the thing that motivates Ilonka in this tough journey is her love for Kevin. Unfortunately, he still sees his girlfriend.

Anya Zimmerman

Anya is Ilonka’s roommate and also suffers from cancer. As a matter of fact, she is more realistic in nature. Maybe this is because Anya has already lost one of his legs in the process. She is completely aware of the fact that death is the only escape from this life. At times, we feel that Anya is more pessimistic than anyone should be. Nevertheless, Anya and Ilonka share a close bond of friendship.

People often call you hard-headed because you see through things the right way. You don’t sugarcoat words in order to fool anyone. It is your firm belief that everyone should face reality.

Kevin

Kevin is the main character in the story because of many reasons. First, he is the love interest of Ilonka, secondly, he still believes in love, lastly, he is an amazing storyteller. Kevin’s stories are quite long and immensely intriguing and can continue for three long nights as well. He really entertains us all with the spark in his eyes while sharing the tales. On the other hand, Kevin fights his last-stage leukemia with the support of Ilonka and motivation from his ex-girlfriend Sandra. He realizes that there is not much life left to enjoy so he relishes every moment.

Spencer

Spencer or we can say, Spence, blows the real fresh air in the show. No matter whose idea it was to create The Midnight Club, but according to rumors, it was Spence. He enjoys these sessions the most and is eager to share a story almost every night. We like his cool dude attitude and the weird jokes he keeps cracking in the most wrong moments. By the way, it was his idea to sign the pact of death so whatever happens, we can blame him!
